Try a Bud Light on the Rocks this Thursday Night!

Try a Bud Light on the Rocks this Thursday Night!

Who’s ready for Happy Hour with the TIP? We’re fresh off Chad’s bachelor party in Tampa and looking to burn that experience out of our minds with plenty of booze. We’ll be playing this Thursday night at the Red Lion from 7-10pm, which is good news for all you old farts who don’t like to party past 10pm on a school night (me). We’ll also be able to take advantage of the great Happy Hour and Nighttime Specials that the Red Lion has to offer (see below).

IMG_0540Additionally, we’d like to take this time to officially welcome two new members to Just the Tip: John on drums and Chris on bass. John comes to us from some toothless village in Kentucky, and Chris came from the 70′s. In celebration of their arrival, I will be sporting a mustache for the next 7 years.

Happy New Year to everyone in the Tip family! We’ll see you Thursday.

Chad’s Bachelor Party: Let’s Never Speak of it Again

January 15, 2013 by

The locale chosen for Chad’s bachelor party was none other than the great state of Florida: the land of Deadbeat Dads and high-school teachers who sleep with their students. Luckily we seemed to blend right in. Unfortunately, I can’t break guy code and advertise what happened down there, but here are two quick picture highlights.

After we played paintball, Chad contracted some kind of weird STD on his back. I think it might be AIDS:

Then later on at the casino in Tampa, I witnessed this guy ride a Rascal up to the urinal in the men’s room, take a whiz, and ride right back out. Negative on the hand washing, by the way:

Just the Tip Supports Charities: What’s Your Excuse?

December 15, 2012 by

That’s right, we’re better than you. Last month, the Tip played a charity gig to support the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I’m not sure what they do exactly, but I think it involves Eastern European sex trafficking. They’re against it. Anyway, we turned in a pretty solid performance with a little karma boost to boot, which always helps.

Scenes From Fighty’s Last Night in NYC

September 15, 2012 by

It was Fighty’s last night in NYC, and once again Chad and I found ourselves riding around atop an NYC Tourist Bus, though this time everyone had their clothes on. We made a brief stop a Phebe’s (site of the original Delange-a-thon) before going to some place in the Village that had sod for carpet. Chad belly danced. It was a fitting send-off, I thought.

Fightmaster’s Last Show, this Thursday Night!

August 15, 2012 by

It’s been seven months since the last Just the Tip bar gig. That’s a pretty long time. That’s like, if someone got pregnant at our last show in December, they would have had an abortion two months ago. KIDDING!! Man, I hope no one from my office is reading this.

Well, now that everyone is thoroughly disgusted, let’s talk about The Official Return of Just the Tip this Thursday night! We’ll be at the Red Lion on Bleecker St (at Thompson). Not only will we be debuting our new bass player, Chris, but we’ve also cut out a bunch of lame songs from our repertoire that Todd used to make us play. In fact, if you’ve ever been dissatisfied with anything that Just the Tip has ever done, including this post, you have my permission to blame Todd. He’ll be at the show, by the way.

Lastly, and on a slightly sadder note, our longtime drummer Ryan has decided to leave the band and move back to Ohio, a state with few redeeming qualities aside from the fact that it slightly resembles the outline of a boobie. Ryan has been with us since ’08, and in that time he has never once let up on his assertion that Adam Sandler still produces relevant comedic films. It’s ridiculous, I know. Nonetheless, it is of course sad to lose another member of the Tip, but we wish him well and secretly admire his willingness to walk away from a group of overweight, rock-star-wannabe thirty-somethings.

The doors open at 9:30pm tomorrow night and we expect to see everyone primed and ready to rock like old times! We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
