My buddy Jack is probably the best artist that I’ve ever seen, and he loves to draw sick Bob Ross style portraits of Just the Tip. Check out the pics below for a sampling of his work.
Not much has been going on with the TIP these last few weeks, as evidenced by the lack of posts on the blog. Todd is off gallivanting somewhere in South America and I haven’t seen Chad since Desmond’s last month. Luckily, Eric and I have been doing a ton of bonding lately.
EDIT: Thanks to Meg for capturing this disturbing display of bro-mance.
The Tip will be in action tonight at Arlene’s Grocery, though you wouldn’t know it by visiting the site. Ah yes, JTT will be hitting the stage for an unprecedented 11PM Tuesday night show. Don’t judge us, the giant purple van insurance doesn’t pay itself and let’s face it, the thing ain’t exactly in ship shape so premiums are high. Somehow the Tip has been asked to close down an industry event featuring “up and coming” artists, whatever that means. Not sure how this one came to pass but nevertheless we’ll show up and rock cause hey, that’s what we do. For those of you with straight jobs that don’t party on Tuesday, fear not. There is a
slight chance that the show will be webcast online HERE. There are some pretty good bands playing before us so if you can brave the weather come check it out. Personally I’m looking forward to seeing Band of Thieves. I hope to see a few of you there this evening but understand if you have prior commitments like supposedly loyal fan Ben Wolfert who’s excuse is as follows…
“I am going to the –ehem—-ballet—-ehem—- with my mom this evening, and that usually lets out at about 11:15/11:30″
We will be contacting all of you individually so have a good excuse cause it may end up on this blog.
Check out the Kings of Leon pic in the previous post and then this over-the-top stage setup from the ACDC at the Garden back in November. Behind that blowup doll’s massive boobs was a gigantic Back to the Future III style freight train and like 20 cannons. As far as I’m concerned, the 80′s were a vacuous decade from a cultural perspective (Rocky movies notwithstanding), but sometimes things like this make me feel a bit nostalgic. That and the porn.
Kings of Leon put on a solid show last night at the Garden and this picture really doesn’t do them justice. I don’t know what the hell was happening with my cell phone camera last night. Anyway, they’re a talented group and definitely worth checking out. Big ups to Abrams and Mirshak for hooking me up with a ticket!
EDIT: Thank you to “Sheabrams” and Mirshak for the ticket!
